Post Plague Productivity

I've.been.sick. A re-run of the plague I had over Stitches (without the 'sexy laryngitis'). My temperature hovered around 100 degrees since starting last Sunday and didn't let up until yesterday. I realized that since Wednesday, the only people I've spoken to in person are those working the cash register at my local pharmacy. Blech.

Saturday though, things started looking up. No temp. Didn't feel too bad. Whole day to myself. What's a knitter/spinner to do?

Make pretty things, of course!

I took some different kinds of this:

And a few types of this:

Tossed in a little bit of this:

Steamed it a while, hung it to dry:

Ta-DA!

Last of the plain Corriedale I bought at Stitches '07.

The very first yarn I spun on my own wheel ever:

A little experimenation with Bombyx Silk:

Some formerly white Lana Gatto I won from Tammy last year:

And remember the Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool I got at the swap a little while ago?

Grand Finale

(drum roll....)

I finished Lizard Ridge today!

I made it with just one colorway, #188, and opted to make it out of strips rather than blocks. Purty, huh? It's for our friends who just got married (and forced us to come to Hawaii to attend the wedding). They gave me a reason to go to Hawaii for the first time; don't you agree they deserve Lizard Ridge?

Sorry to hear you were sick! I would have brought you some chicken soup or something... but boy, you sure made up for it yesterday. Love the shine on that silk. And Lizard Ridge is definitely gorgeous - hooray for finishitis!

Wow! All that done in spite of plague? So impressive. The Lana Gatto turned out so nice, well done. Oh, and if I'm ever in your neighbourhood, I'm totally stealing your Lizard Ridge. So beautiful.

Gorgeous blanket. I really like it in just the one colorway. That's some great gift!

Wow. When I'm sick I sleep. You are way more productive.

All the yarn and roving looks positively yummy and the blanket turned out great!

COOL!!! Except for the sick part. Get better! I'm dying to know--which shade(s) did you use on the bombyx? I so want to copy you.

And that afghan is gorgeous. Wow.

The Lizzard Ridge looks great! And I got sick starting Sunday night and didn't feel better until Saturday either. I am not sure where this bug came from but it bit 4 out of the 5 of us that night we all went to dinner. Maybe we should find out what Cookie does to stay so healthy since she is the only one that didn't get sick.

Exciting! That silk is marvelous. I've got some in my fiber stash that I'm going to have to dye before spinning, I think. I'd like to talk to you about techniques sometime. Congrats on finishing the Lizard Ridge!

(Not) your lizard ridge looks lovely! Much less sewing up to do doing it in strips.
And you dyed up a storm (a storm would've been reallllly nice on the weekend). I'm off to buy a turkey roaster at my local Kohl's tomorrow. I need to do some dyeing.
Glad to hear you are better :-)

I'm sorry you're sick and I hope you're feeling better now. The Lizard Ridge is stunning! And wheee, fun with dyeing! I love seeing what comes out the other end of the dyepot, it all looks fabulous! I think I'm just a fan of color. All of them. I still want to eat that silk.

Really love the Lizard Ridge - it's motivating me enough that my husband's starting to get nervous...
