He Doesn't Understand Meeee...

Friday morning conversation:

Me: Oh I forgot to tell you. We've got a mouse in the garage. It ran and hid as soon as I opened the door. Though it might have been a tiny rat - it was moving too fast for me to see. It was really cute though.

Husband: So let me get this straight. Are you the same person who ranted, freaked out and vacuumed up the ants in the kitchen last summer yelling 'Die, F***ers!!'?

I don't see the dichotomy.

I'm with you. Mice are cute. Ants are gross, little cells of some higher brain, all working in lockstep to create evil...ants in the kitchen are the worst!

Ants are disgusting. Mice can be cute. What's the difficulty here?

Totally not seeing why he's confused on this one. Men are so silly! ;)

I'm with you! Ants in the kitchen are horrible...they gotta go! Mice in the garage.....that's his problem. :D Just so long as they don't sneak into my laundry room....

I don't see a problem. I mean, mice are cute. And entertainment for the cat.

(DH acts that way towards ants, too. he had a Very Bad Ant Experience one year of college and has yet to get over it. He has found that windex/simple green/Trader Joes zen glass cleaning spray will kill ants, plus destroy their scent trail. Just sharing)

If you get in my way when I'm on an ant rampage, I won't assume liability for any resultant injuries. As long as mice aren't in the house (or heaven forbid, in the stash), it's all good.
