I've got 2 new finished projects already for 2009!
FO #1 - Late-To-The-Party Clapotis
I finally joined the 26,431 other knitters who have made Clapotis (Ravelry says it's 9,311 but I think it's more). I hope that the 35 remaining knitters on earth who haven't knit it - and some are friends- don't think I've become some sort of Clapotis-Have-Knit elitist or anything. I swear, just because I joined the club doesn't mean I've changed. Except that I was a little warmer heading outside today which was nice.
Riso loves to model and have his picture taken. He's too tired these days to sit up and pose but he started wagging furiously when I draped this over him.
Brian didn't wag furiously when I draped this over him. He gave me that long-suffering-spouse look and didn't say a thing.
I also spun this:
This is Merino/Silk Top in Pomegranate from Tactile. It's lovely stuff - I got 347 yards of 2-ply lace/fingering weight (it's not entirely even) out of 2 ounces of fiber. I'm not sure what it'll become, but I love it - it's super soft and I haven't even soaked it yet.
And these are post-felting shots of my father-in-law's slippers (finished in '08 but not photographed):
I put some non-skid stuff on the bottoms, to keep him safe.
I'm nice that way. Usually.

I'm one of those 35! Your clapotis looks great! (One of these days I'll join you.) Pretty new spun yarn, too.
I'm another! I have yet to succomb...maybe...someday...pretty pretty yarn! Love the color. I've seen Brian's look on so many of my picture victims. ha ha ha
Love the clapotis! Even if Brian didn't wag for it!
I have not knit this either, although my eldest daughter has it in her queue and was hinting for me to buy her some yarn for it... Not always a good idea to teach your kids to knit!
Looks great and I must say that I am incredibly impressed with your spinning. I am lame in that department...
And FO's on January 4th? Damn. You suck.
You joined the cult, but did you drink their koolaid? Ya know, Brian is very lucky you didn't want him to model a lacy cowl or something. I'm just sayin'...
Love the spinning, btw.
Another one of the 35 checking in...though it is a lovely bit of work!
I gotta say, there's something special about those long-suffering, indulgent spouses, non? (Says she whose DH just patiently sat through a meltdown over tangled Sea Silk...)
Very cool non-slippy stuff...where on earth did you find such a thing?
Ha - the clapotis looks good on Brian. I just wish it were named something other than a name that sounds like a venereal disease.
Love what you spun up!
Another of the 35. I started one in handspun (fiber I didn't enjoy spinning) and decided it should be named clapo ... zzzz .... zzz ...
Love your handspun!
Finished projects so early in the year. I'm impressed, and delurking.oh, and my verification is outta
The Merino/Silk Top in Pomegranate is gorgeous and I love your clapotis:)Hugs Darcy
The Clapotis is always in time for the party!
